No ads, and we never sell your data. Your meals live on your iPhone, and we collect only what Portion needs to work.
How we handle your dataPortion is a calorie counter for iPhone and Apple Watch. Take a photo of a meal or type what you ate, and it estimates calories, protein, carbs and fat in seconds, then adapts your daily target to your weight trend. It works fully in English and Arabic, will be free to start, and is made by TripleFour.
Yes. When Portion launches, Portion Free will give you 5 meals by photo and 20 typed meals every day, with a fresh five every morning at 4:00. Portion Pro, for people who want more, comes later.
Close, and honest about it: every estimate shows a range, like “give or take 90”, instead of pretending to be exact. Photos from above with the whole plate in frame work best. You can change any item, and because your target is tuned to your weight trend, a steady over- or under-estimate evens out over time.
Just to keep your plan safe. Sign in with Apple or Google, and Portion saves your plan and targets securely to your Portion account so a new iPhone gets them back. Your meals stay on your phone.
Fluently. The whole app, the Apple Watch and the estimates themselves follow your iPhone’s language, with Arabic written for Saudi Arabia and the Gulf.
Yes, no need to start from zero. Go to Profile → Your data → Import from another app. Portion reads MacroFactor and Cronometer exports, and daily totals from Apple Health — which covers MyFitnessPal and Lose It once their Health connection is on. Files are read on your iPhone and never uploaded.
In Profile, choose Pregnancy & breastfeeding and add your due date or your baby’s birthday. Portion adjusts your targets using standard pregnancy and breastfeeding guidance, turns off goals that don’t suit you right now, and stops adjusting your target from your weight while you’re pregnant. Check your targets with your doctor or midwife.
Not yet. For now, Portion is made for iPhone and Apple Watch.
No. Estimates and targets are general guidance and can be wrong. If you’re pregnant, or live with diabetes, an eating disorder or another medical condition, talk to a doctor before changing how you eat.
